Happy Birthday Maggie!

It's Maggie's First Birthday Today! It's really hard for me to believe that we've had her for a whole year already. She's grown so fast-as babies tend to do! We love her so much and can't imagine not having her. She is such a happy, easy going little girl.

She got a rough start at life, showing up three months early and weighing 1 lb. 10 oz. The first time I saw her I couldn't believe that such a tiny little person could survive in this world. She was the smalled baby in the NICU for weeks! But she showed us! She is a fighter just like her sister.
(The date is wrong in that picture-just so you know!)
Getting to know your baby in the NICU can be very difficult, but somehow she managed to show us her personality loud and clear. I knew she was going to be pretty easy going, but just as sassy as her big sister.
For me, being in the NICU was like being in the temple. There was an instant humbling feeling being in the presence of these celestial beings. I don't doubt for one second that there were guardian angels all over the place!

Maggie stayed in the hospital for 3 1/2 months, and came home on her sister's 1st b-day. It was a wonderful gift for Tessa to be able to meet her baby sister for the first time. Tessa loved her right off. She loved to hug her.

Maggie is a funny kid. She is always cracking me up. She makes the funniest faces, and she loves to tease her big sister. Really she just wants in on the action.

And she is a REALLY good sport. She goes the extra mile to make sure her family is comfortable...and she makes a good foot rest!

Maggie has really grown into her personality the last few months. She is such a happy girl, but she lets you know when she isn't happy. She loves attention, and she loves being held.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGGIE!!
