Halloween

 We've had quite the Halloween this year. It was a long day full of activities! The girls got up and got their costumes on for school. This year they were Merida (from Brave), and Tinker Bell. They looked very cute! I told Tessa I wasn't going to buy her the big red wig because she already has red hair. (Plus wigs kind of creep my out.)

 Just after school started they had their Costume Parade. They also performed some cute spooky songs. It was fun to see them.

 As soon as they got home from school we got ready to go to my dad's  trunk or treat. It was cold and blizzardy, but a lot of fun! We caught up with a lot of friends, and it was really good to be there.

Trunk-or-Treating to Grandma and Grandpa

 After Truck or Treating, we went Trick or Treating to some family and friends. We visited Great Grandma and Grandpa first. They are always a joy to see, and they love seeing the kids.

After that we took the girls to the Nursing Home to visit some of the elderly people there. My sister in law told me the Nursing Home does a little spook alley, and trick or treating around a small circle of residents there. I was excited to have my kids experience holding their hands and talking to them. It really tickles the residents there to see children, and talk to them. I've always really enjoyed taking my family to the Nursing Home to serve the people there-so it was nice to sneak some of that into our Halloween night.

 After we got a giant load of candy we headed home for some Spooky Dinner! 

I made Mummy Wraps, Vampire Soup, Dried Witch's Skin, Blood Dip, and Ghoul-aid punch. It was pretty delicious!

 We had a great Halloween...very busy, but very fun.
