My brother Ben is serving in Afghanistan as a doctor. I was e-mailed some pictures today and this one made me cry. I don't know why but I pictured him in a nice-ish hospital, working, safe, in a white lab coat, and definitely no gun.
Instead I realized where he really is....and he does need a gun.
And here he is smiling and happy, playing with a baby.
I hope this year goes by fast...esp for his wife and 3 little boys.
